James (Ralph)'s Story
After graduation I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent a year in San Diego. In late 1954
I was selected for embassy duty and was assigned to Madrid, Spain for the next 30 months.
Upon being discharged I was employed at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company until 1966.
I decided to seek adventure and took a position in Saigon, Vietnam where I remained for the next nine years. Visited several Asian countries while I was there. Unfortunately Saigon fell to the

while I was working for the U.S. Embassy. I left by helicopter the night of the 29th. About one hundred or less U.S. civilians were left in Vietnam at that time.
I went to work for GE Nuclear Energy in San Jose retiring as Security Manager in 1999.
So, after living in two foreign countries, two wives from opposite sides of the world , two children, three step-children, nine grand-children, one great grandson and a small dog , I am now a
widower living in Santee CA near my son and his family.
